  • Year 6 - Living Things and their Habitats

    Our work with year 6 includes field studies of plants growing in school; identifying them and discussing how we might classify them.

    Year 6 will also be working with us to develop the new wildlife area and pond; researching and sourcing native aquatic plants locally for us.  We will also plant and study tubers, strawberries and potatoes.

  • Soil Experiments

    Tuesday 9th Jan 2024 - We did some soil experiments to investigate the different areas of our school garden.  Yr 3 and 4 are learning about soils in class, so we thought we'd find out about the soil in our school garden and how this impacts what we grow.  The group will measure the different layers next week to see how much organic matter, clay, silt and sand is present.  The children will use this information to help them decide what to grow and where.
